The Apple iTablet iSlate Tablet Computer that doesn’t exist

According to all sources Apple is just about to launch a tablet style computer which will cause small children to gasp in amazement, grown men to rub their credit card lustily and technology pundits and experts to cry openly. Trouble is that all these sources are echos of the others’ sources and this cold hard fact remains: THERE IS NO APPLE TABLET.

I have no doubt that Apple has designed and possibly engineered a tablet style computer, they’ve probably trialled it running a fully-fledged version of the Mac OS and the stripped down iPhone version. The fact that they registered the iSlate domain a few years ago shows they were, at the very, very least possibly thinking about potential future products or y’know considering it as an alternative name for the iPhone or iPod touch. Even if they have done all this there’s no guarantee that Apple will launch the product anyway. However, THERE IS NO APPLE TABLET.

So, having decided that as it stands THERE IS NO APPLE TABLET what better than to speculate on what this upcoming Apple tablet will be like.

Design
An iPod touch but bigger.

Battery
Internal non-user replaceable (Can you hear that? It’s the sound of a million technology pundits crying out as if something terrible has happened)

OS
iPhone

Connectivity
iPod connector, Wi-fi, Bluetooth, 3G*

Keyboard
Software

Price
£1399 minimum

Claimed battery life
About 5 hours more than you’ll actually get

Storage

but remember kids THERE IS NO APPLE TABLET.

* I still think there’s a very real possibility that the completely unreal Apple tablet won’t have 3G.
**Utterly fanciful but you never know.
